Over Memorial Day weekend
Leominster Public Library &
all of the libraries in C/WMARS
will switch to a new online catalog and transactions
system called EVERGREEN
|
Library staff have been getting
acquainted with Evergreen, both on the
administrative side and learning about the functions
that patrons will use once the switch is completed.
|
|
A Few things before we
change over...
The library will be closed
Saturday, May 26 through
Monday, May 28
|
|
You will not be able to access your accounts, place
holds, renew items or use some of the library's
online tools during the switchover, May 25-29.
On May 29 your password will be reset to your last
name
(all CAPS) The first time you log into the catalog,
you will be asked to change your password.
Your reading history and wishlists will not be
carried over through the migration. If this
information is important to you, remember to save it
prior to May 25 .
|
|
When the libraries come up on Evergreen, on May
29th, you will find that Evergreen is more
user-friendly and intuitive, especially with regard
to searches.
|
|
When you log into your account, a set of tabs called "the dashboard" will guide
you to options like Account Summary, Items
Checked Out, Holds, Account Preferences, and Lists.
You will now be able to search both the Central
and Western catalogs at once.
You will have the option to create a username to
sign into the catalog. The default login will still
be your library card barcode.
You will be able to create a history of items
checked out and holds placed.
You will have the option to suspend/activate
holds (i.e. when on vacation, to read/view a series
in order, etc.)
You will be able to create lists of your favorite
books to share with other readers.
